Unrealistic Relics

I always want people to know the things around us and not pay too much attention to the huge things in countries, global context, or universe. That is too big to imagine. When you get to know and understand all the environment, plants, or buildings in your living area, it is also a way to learn things in a bigger context. When you care about the global environment, you can care about your home first. From these small elements around you, you will get to know more about international information step by step.

On March 20, 2021, China found six mounds in Three Star Mounds. It is a huge discovery in Chinese archaeology. It is also the inspiration for my project. I want to make an unrealistic relic. It will be a kind of relic that does not exist on the earth. It does not need to have a specific shape, but it shares the same function as normal relics, the relationship. The connection relationship is between the environment and humans. People find relics in the environment, and nature gives human birth.

To combine these two points of interest, I use aluminium wires and yarns to knit a "cage." The hard part represents the human's bone; the soft yarns represent the skin and flesh. The three-dimensional circles are the fancy ideas of people all around. Connected to the global context, the tridimensional circles are also planets and nature. From micro to macro, the world's information is always with us. In the artwork, the nature inside of the "human," but outside the artwork, the "human" cage is also on the earth.
